Martha MacCallum to Join SoldierStrong Advisory Board

January 30, 2015

Stamford, CT, Jan. 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – The SoldierStrong Advisory Board provides counsel on ways to better serve and assist members of the U.S. Armed Forces. In addition to Ms. MacCallum, the Advisory Board is comprised of former United States Senator Joseph Lieberman, Philanthropist John H. Linnartz, Former CEO Linda McMahon, Special Advisor to former Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretary of State General Colin Powell, Colonel Bill Smullen, Dr. Kathleen H. Hicks and Retired Vice Admiral Bob Murrett.

“I am honored to join the SoldierStrong Advisory Board,” said MacCullum. “Chris Meek has done amazing things to help our military in the field and as they make their transition back to civilian life. It is a mission of love and respect and gratitude, and I look forward to helping in any way I can.”

“We are privileged to have Martha MacCallum join our Advisory Board and look forward to her ideas and vision,” said SoldierStrong Co-Founder, Chris Meek. “Her extraordinary accomplishments will help SoldierStrong achieve our mission and further our success in supporting our nation’s heroes.”

MacCallum is an integral part of Fox’s Election Team – covering 4 cycles of midterm elections and 3 Presidential elections in ’04, ’08 and 2012.  She has interviewed President Obama, Mitt and Anne Romney, Senator John McCain, Laura Bush and an extensive list of presidential and congressional candidates on the campaign trail.  Her wide-ranging interviews include General David Petreaus, Rudy Guiliani and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

She has also covered major international and national stories including the terror attack at the Boston Marathon, The Royal Wedding, Hurricane Katrina and the funeral of Pope John Paul II.

She can often be seen on Fox News in primetime and in weekly segments with Bill O’Reilly, and is a frequent guest on IMUS in the morning.

In addition to her work with SoldierStrong, Martha has highlighted numerous military achievements on America’s Newsroom. Her coverage has included the accomplishments and personal stories of The Green Beret, Navy SEALs, extensive coverage of medal winners for extreme bravery in Afghanistan, including interviews with Navy SEAL Rob O’Neil and Medal of Honor Recipient Dakota Meyer.

In December 2014, she received the SoldierStrong Commitment to Service Award for her efforts in raising awareness of the many problems that U.S. veterans encounter when they return home and she was twice the recipient of the Gracie Allen Award, given by the Foundation for American Women in Radio and Television.

About SoldierStrong

SoldierStrong was founded in 2009 to provide basic necessities such as baby wipes, socks and sunscreen to American soldiers fighting for our country in the trenches of Afghanistan and Iraq. As more of our soldiers return home to the U.S., SoldierStrong continues to assist our nation’s heroes in re-acclimating to civilian life by providing scholarships for colleges and trade schools and offering paralyzed soldiers an opportunity to gain mobility outside of a wheelchair.
